North Edinburgh Arts

Two summer projects at North Edinburgh Arts Centre. One during 2005 and another in 2006 working with film and video animation company D Fie Foe.

I enabled children between the ages of eight and twelve to realise their musical soundtrack on both films. Using music technology participants took it 'in-turn' to create component chapters of the films.

The other aspect of my work for this project focused on the sound effects, and all the audio recordings. Sometimes recording one line delivered from a narrator. At other times, perhaps capturing individual character roles or recording general crowd scenes.

These projects offer the participants a unique window into the practical world of film animation, investigating the different production aspects involved in animation. It also highlights the essential role of audio and music.
