Napier University
Teaching music technology techniques to students over a
sixteen week period. Six sessions focused on pop music composition to third year
under graduates. I taught MIDI
programming and sequencing to second year students over a ten week period.
Students learned about soft synth plug-in's and their application in
composition. My job was to enable the second year students to understand and
become comfortable using the software. Tasks included creating two compositions
which focused on harmony, melody, rhythm and structure.
I have
also taught further education classes at The Ian Tomlin School of Music, and I
am currently available for Napier's Night Class curriculum. These classes
run for three hours and cover most aspects of MIDI
programming with music technology. Students vary in ability, which means I have
to give one to one tuition as well as delivering standard lessons to
classes.
